On November 14-16 2007, PPA members wa convened in Santiago, Chile, for our second international meeting in South America, at the Centro Patrimonial Recoleta Dominica, and old Dominican Monastery which as been recently renovated in downtown Santiago. The Scientific Program for each day included a Plenary Lecture, Symposia on selected topics (Theory and Methods in Paleopathology, Paleoparasitology and Migrations, Forensic Paleopathology, Paleopathology in the Andean Region, and Leishmaniasis), and sessions devoted to Short Communications and Posters. Two local field trips were planned for meeting participants. The first was a guided visit to see the 500-year-old Andean Mummy. The second trip was showcase Chile´s largest forensic osteological collection, which includes almost 700 documented individuals.
